WHO AM I?
Jayden Payne
[SHE/THEY] 20 years old
Henlo! I'm Jayden, a cartoonist, story artist, scriptwriter and dreamer majoring in Sequential Art at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I was born and raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, in the town of Kill Devil Hills, surrounded by rich history, the beach, and nature alike. Comics has always been my medium of choice for storytelling, dating back all the way to when I was in elementary school! A lot of my work is centered on the idea of hope, persistence, and kindness, utilizing real-world problems and situations to tell magical stories that will someday uplift others.
It's my dream to one day create a comic series that resonates with readers and encourages them to be their best. Whether that be through magical girl tropes, fantasy bowling leagues, environmental superheroes or vikings on trains, my imagination won't rest until I give the world something to dream for!

"What do you do in your free time?"
When I'm not drawing, I like to bike, bowl, picnic, scrapbook, code, bother my family members and play video games! I naturally tend to spend a lot of time outside, either in parks or just wandering.
"What are your interests?"
My interests include a variety of different things! Magical girls like Princess Tutu, Madoka MAgica and Card Captor Sakura; Video games such as UNDERTALE, MineCraft and League of Legends; Animated works including but not limited to Cartoon Saloon, Studio Ghibli and Arcane, and fun hobbies such as my skills in HTML + CSS, patchwork, crafting, and building models and furniture!
"What programs do you use?"
I utilize IbisPaintX for my art, CAPCUT and Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing, Brackets and Neocities for coding, and finally Microsoft Word and Google Docs for Scriptwriting.
"What are your favorites?"
My favorite musician is Porter Robinson, with my favorite song being Look at the Sky! My favorite color is purple; My favorite food varies from fried chicken to manicotti; My favorite anime is Princess Tutu; My favorite ice cream flavor is Cherry Garcia; My favorite soda is a tie between Dr Pepper and Cheerwine; My favorite animated movie is The Mitchells vs The Machines and my favorite live action movie is Scott Pilgrim vs the World!
"Who's inspired you and your work?"
Molly Knox Ostertang, author of all my childhood comics; Toby Fox and Temmie Chang, creators of UNDERTALE, the game that changed my life forever, Porter Robinson, who's music saved my life, and my wonderful friends and family, who I wouldn't trade for anyone else in the world!
